The Los Angeles Dodgers defeated the rival San Francisco Giants in the five games to advance to the NLCS. In Game 1, Logan Webb was dominant throwing 7 and 2/3 innings with ten strikeouts in route to a 4-0 victory. Game 2 was an even match until the 6th inning when Bellinger hit a two-run double to give the Dodger a 4-1 lead. The dodgers would dominant the back half of the game winning 9-2. Game 3 was a pitching gem from both team with the only run coming from an Evan Longoria homerun in 5th to win 1-0. In Game 4, the dodgers were in control the whole night with them scoring in five innings to a 7-2 victory. Game 5 would open up with the dodger using an opener for the first two inning and the Giants starting Logan Webb. Both the openers/ Urias and Webb threw the ball as they both gave up one run. In the 9th inning, Bellinger had struggled all year and especially against the Giants hit a clutch RBI single to put the Dodger up one. Max Scherzer would come out the bullpen and strikeout Flores on a controversial check swing to send the Dodgers to the NLCS.
The Giants offensive really let them down with their highest scoring game being fours in the first game. In the other four games, they score either one or two runs. They have overachieved all season, but they did not come up when they needed to.
The Dodgers seem to be on track to repeat in 2020 as they will once again face the Atlanta Braves in the NLCS. However, Atlanta team is nowhere near as strong as they were last year.
